The NHRPA and Spedeworth Motorsports are delighted to announce an exciting new format for the 2026 National Hot Rods Championship of the World. The World Final will be staged at Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich over the weekend of 3rd-5th July.
The drivers will have three events in order to score points towards their grid position for the 75-lap World Final showdown.
Event 1: Hot Laps, held on Saturday morning as normal.
Event 2: Heat One, grid decided by random draw, on Saturday afternoon.
Event 3: Heat Two, reversed grid to Heat One, held on Saturday evening.
Each event will carry equal points, using the tried and trusted Longhurst Points System.
The driver with the highest aggregate points from the three events will gain pole position for the World Final, and so on down the grid. The World Final will take place as normal at 12 Noon on Sunday.
For 2026 the World Final allocation of places will be as follows:
England 18
Northern Ireland 9
Scotland 3
Republic of Ireland 3
Holland 1
Hot Laps Format
In a change to the Hot Laps format, the drivers will be split into three groups depending on finishing points positions in their home World Series.
Group A: England 1-6, NI 1-3, Scotland 1, RoI 1, Holland 1.
Group B: England 7-12, NI 4-6, Scotland 2, RoI 2.
Group C: England 13-18, NI 7-9, Scotland 3, RoI 3.
Group A drivers will confer and choose to go first second or third group on track in the Hot Laps. Group 2 will then choose from the remaining 2 slots, with Group 3 taking the remaining slot.
Drivers will then draw for position within their own group.
